...ok, this one is cool. Team A has.....

Bases loaded, 2 outs, 3-2 count, batter pops up foul wide to the 3B dugout, runners are breaking on the pitch, 3B doesn't catch the foul ball but the ump rules that the runner third is out. Why is she out?
Who would be the next batter for team A next inning and why? And how do you score it?

and Charlie, let others answer this please pal.

Runner at third interfers w/ the 3B trying to field the ball. Batter that hit ball is lead-off next inning. Scored RI-runner interference?????

    Maybe??
    LOL

Because as soon as the runner interferes it is a dead ball. Therefore the play is dead and everything else afterwards (even if 3rd caught the ball) is null and void.

    GO ME!! LOL

Happy Easter to the Warren family!!

    ....nice job, and thanks!
....now a curveball on the ?......what if there were only 1 or 2 outs and the 3B runner did not interfere and the thirdbaseman did not catch the foul ball.
What is the scorekeeping in the book and why?

No interference, means no out, no caught foul ball... no change to score keeping(unless you keep track of foul balls past the 30-2 count), runners go back to their bases and the batter returns to the batter's box for another pitch.

....the sorekeeping would be an error on the 3b if she does not catch the ball, and if the batter then cranks out a hit that scores the run then that run would be ruled as unearned.
    Happy Easter CMMPal!

gotcha... missed the point of your question. The point of earned vs unearned is always confusing. If there were NOT 2 outs, wouldnt the unearned run be the batter/runner that the error was called on? ie the batter who hit the foul. Since that error did not prevent the end of the inning, would not the runner on 3rd(assuming they got on with no error) be considered earned if they get in on the batter? I am so confused.

Determining errors is most confusing part of scorekeeping.

...I'm with you brother. I was just pointing out that a catchable ball in foul territory that is "charlie browned" goes in the books as an error on the defense.
