Every school seems to have their

sports cash cow and some do not. Money invested in funds that are used to furnish scholarships in the future are really taking a hit. Just think dollars in an account that the intrest on that money is what is giving those $1000.00, $500.00 and even $250.00 scholarships. With the hit that the market has already taken. That money that would have been there may not be. Sports at some schools use those monies for their scholarship funds. Braves you are correct. Schools are not using bowl games for the money. They are using it as an ad for the school.

 

I think a good question to be raised is this. With sports revenue sources going flat, do you believe that the BCS schools will finally adopt a football playoffs; believing this is another source of money to not leave on the table?

 

This is where the hits are going to happen. The General fund and fees. % increase from last year.

 

I would lean to the question is: What are sports going to do in these times? I suggested that gas was going to limit some sports at the HS level and even the college level for some school. But, now you have no funds for those sports players to go to the next level. Nop dollars for players , no sport. College is for learning sports are a bonus. And we know what happens to the bonus in tough times.
