Hurney's been here since 98. He's not a JFG. They're close, and I'm sure that helped make it all work, but in the end, it's baffling to suggest they don't evaluate Hurney based on his own work, that it's either both he and Fox or neither. Why would he not be evaluated on his merits? Alternately, why do some automatically assume he won't be here?

Mallett I'm not a big fan of. Hard to like that many of the spread guys other than McCoy.

I think automatically expecting a QB pick there would lead to heartbreak.

Which, I think we could get a solid 2nd round QB, but don't force a guy just to say it was done. I don't think we need a TE there but depending on how everything else worked out I'm not against anything else.

I wonder if Shanny and Kubiak would combine again. I mean, not that either is a sucker on offense and the real situation would be if they could keep a defensive coordinator for three weeks or more, but that would be interesting.
