Smith's been on that last chance for a while now. Part of mentally destroying a franchise to pass time is that you look for reasons to make someone pay.

It's been interesting, given that we like that back shoulder fade, that Jarrett was never good at it. It was one of the few things that he excelled at in college, along with those jump balls. So at some point, you'd expect he could do this and run slants.

there seems to be a bit of a lore where Jenx is making so many people better, whereas his weight, age, and relative lack of conditioning really just seem to be hidden better in his current scheme. And even then, he Romoed by December because he's just playing too heavy.

It was never that we got enough or whether we should've gotten rid of him, as unfortunate as it was. It was that we never adequately replaced him.

That makes sense. I looked at his numbers after my initial shock and he actually seems to be a pretty decent QB. The fact that he put up more TDs than INTs at KC is promising, and the offense does seem tailor made for a guy like that. If he ends up being an athletic version of pennington, it could be a really good move in the long run.

Yeah, but why go after him if you're happy with what you have?

Then again, the Chiefs have been terrible for a long time.

I have that same feeling. Plus, he seems to take decent care of the ball. Then again, it's pretty obvious that Pat White wasn't brought in to be a starting QB. It's possible the cheifs got enamored with Cassell, but it bothers me that Thigpen got dropped down the depth chart for Cassell.
